About Us

Started in July 2007, company founders Richard Varela and Jimmy Richards saw a need in the collections industry for a more secure, stable, and efficient way of completing the repeating, often daily tasks that are a part of every company. With this vision they developed Technology Automation Group, which excels at taking a manual process and completely automating it, hands free from start to finish. Virtually any process which is currently being handled by data processing, accounting, client services, or any other group within an organization can be automated, saving a company the need to continually hire more and more people to fill the roles in an ever growing business.

Richard Varela Richard Varela is a leading figure in the Information Technology field. He has spent the last 10 years bringing large and small collection companies around to the idea of automation and its many benefits. Most recently he served as Vice President of Information Technology at West Asset Management (formerly Attention, LLC) and in 3 short years transformed the Sherman, TX location from a manually-driven data processing center into a location that utilizes over 300 active scripts on a daily basis, ranging in function from monitoring the stability of their FACS license usage to completely automating their new business imports.

Jimmy Richards Jimmy Richards was introduced to the collections industry at an early age. With a family name that has deeply influenced and helped to mature the industry as a whole, Jimmy has developed and honed his skills in the Information Technology field. Jimmy has worked in Development with both Attention LLC and West Asset Management, and later worked as part of the FACS to Artiva conversion team at West. After leaving West, he moved into the Director of IT position at Titan Management. He is one of the most recognized experts today on the Artiva collection system with an extensive background in programming and the FACS collection system.

Wesley Baker Wesley Baker has spent the last 7 years in the collections industry. Starting as a third party contigency collector in 2001, he quickly moved his way up through the ranks to become a FACS Administrator. Sheri Allison Sheri Allison is our FACS and Artiva Bookkeeping and GL expert. She started her career in the industry in 2001. By 2003 she had worked her way to the payment processing department and as Lead, and started automating many of the manual processes. Jobs that originally required 6 hours she was able to automate down to only 30 minutes, and removed over 90% of the errors that occurred from human typos and miscommunication. Because of these new automatic processes, Sheri's team only needed 5 people to process over 2,000 manual payments, 8,000 CheckWriter payments, and 300 credit card payments at month end with no overtime incurred.

Jason Marshall Jason Marshall started his IT career over 16 years ago, and has done it all, from setting up new networks and hardware to testing development software. In 2003, he joined the FACS team at West Asset Management, and in 2006 was promoted to Lead. He currently takes care of all our clients' telephony and hardware troubleshooting, as well as FACS and Artiva requests.
